Targeted Link Popularity Service To Increase Online Traffic
Link building – A crucial part of search engine optimization (SEO). It has evolved over the years to such a degree that it has its very own built-in paradox: those websites who already have thousands of quality links will most probably only get more; their link-impoverished counterparts won't get any. De facto? Not quite. Let's have a look at SEO link building and explore some of the ways that you can get your foot into the ranking game.

Link Building - In Layman's Terms
Webmasters and website owners alike consider link building, or link popularity, as one of the major factors search engines take into account when deciding which pages to push up in the ranks, and which to drop down. And in thinking so, they're not far off the mark. Link building specifically relates to the amount of inbound links from other websites on the internet. These are often referred to as backlinks. So how are these links made then?

If the content on a particular website is good enough, then people will link to it. It is, in fact, this principle that search engines rely on: how popular is a particular website in terms of content and, more importantly, how many other top-notch websites link to it? The higher the quality of the link, the better it is for the particular website. It's as simple as that but there's a catch.

You see, having great content is useless if there's no one to look at it. And how will people look at those pages of excellent content if it isn't listed on the search engine result pages?

How Link Building Is Done
There are a couple of ways in which owners with new websites or websites with no backlinks can start climbing that all-important ranking ladder. Before we look at them however, there are a couple of no-go areas to stay clear of. Straying from the path of righteous link building can not only ensure that the website in question goes no where, but that it does so fast while getting into search engines' bad books.

1. Stay within the industry.
Not so much a poisoned apple, but one not really worth the effort asking websites from a different industry to link to yours will seriously devalue the quality of that inbound link. But then again, if it's free, then why not?

2. Bad links may cost you.
When starting out, many webmasters and website owners consider quantity a top priority. While this may be true for good links, bad links will end up hurting your website. These include backlinks from industries renowned for their 'bad behavior' on the internet, such as porn websites, gambling websites and pharmaceutical retail websites.

3. Say NO!. to er, spam
No, we don't mean upgrade the spam filter on your mail. Link building requires a lot of time and effort, when it's being done right. As such, many webmasters and web owners try and take a shortcut by spamming on forums and blogs. This mainly refers to the practice of delivering zero content in their posts and replies with the sole aim of getting their signatures (containing a link to their website) and/or keywords posted.

Efficient link building
That being said, here are a couple of good ways to ensure that content gets noticed and, more importantly, that it gets linked to.

1. Buy links.
There are some things money can't buy, but good links isn't one of them. In most cases the cost of the link will equal the quality of the link. For those with a sizeable budget, this could be the way forward.

2. Write a press release.
You don't have to be a top-notch journalist to make this happen (though hiring a fairly competent one will help). Compile a press release with some newsworthy information about the website and send it to relevant internet entities. These get used as foundations for future articles which are often posted on quality, trusted websites.

3. Exploit different types of media.
Videos, sound clips, etc. Consider the success of websites like YouTube where millions of people log on and watch others do their thing every day. You don't need to be popular, you don't need good teeth or acting skills, but you do need some good content. Giving people what they want and, if possible, in an entertaining way will ensure that the rewards are plentiful.

4. Write Articles
Article directories are there for one purpose and one purpose only: to provide people with information, which, incidentally, is what search engines want to do too. It therefore stands to reason that writing a number of informative articles with easy-to-read content will not only ensure that your website gets linked to by the article directory, but by the readers too.

5. Make use of internet directories
Internet directories list websites by their respective industries, sectors, etc. and have been around for ages. Many search engines still regard them as a main an accurate source of accurate information and will therefore regard them as a quality link.

Time = Money
There are in fact numerous ways to get content noticed by the internet community and getting them to link to it on their own websites, blogs, etc. The problem for most website owners and webmasters is more often than not the time it takes to make use of all these link building techniques. After all, time equals money and there is more to a business than simply ensuring that people link to the content of a website.
